Dignity through Sanitation: Partnering to Build Safe Wash Facilities at Saraswati Basic School in Damak

In alignment with our core commitment to safeguarding student health, enhancing school infrastructure and promoting educational equity under the Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) framework, the Bank has partnered with the Rotary Club of Damak for a vital community development project. This collaborative intervention directly supports Saraswati Basic School in Damak-2, a public academic institution providing foundational education to a large student body primarily composed of children from economically vulnerable and marginalized backgrounds.

Inadequate sanitation infrastructure poses a direct threat to student well-being and frequently leads to hygiene-related school absenteeism, particularly among female students. To eliminate these barriers and cultivate a healthy, dignified learning environment, the Bank stepped forward to co-sponsor the construction of modern, hygienic toilet and sanitation facilities on the school premises. By investing in sustainable sanitation, this health and education initiative ensures that underprivileged children have access to the basic necessities required to stay healthy, confident and fully focused on their academic journeys.
