World Environment Day 2026: Cultivating Green Futures

To mark World Environment Day 2026, Kumari Bank Limited, in collaboration with Lumbini World Peace Forum (LWPF), launched its nationwide CSR campaign “Cultivating Green Futures.” Guided by SDG 13 (Climate Action) and SDG 15 (Life on Land), the initiative aims to promote environmental conservation, biodiversity, climate resilience, and sustainable community development.
The campaign began with a plantation program in Ilam Municipality, supporting environmental preservation and ecotourism promotion. It was subsequently expanded to Bansgadhi Municipality, Bardiya, through bamboo plantation, helping strengthen soil conservation and creating future livelihood opportunities. Likewise, the Bank supported the plantation of 500 jackfruit saplings in Rainash Municipality, Lamjung and 500 fruit-bearing saplings in Hariwon Municipality, Sarlahi, contributing to increased green cover, biodiversity enhancement, and long-term economic benefits for local communities.
Through these initiatives, Kumari Bank is not only contributing to climate action and ecological restoration but also helping create sustainable livelihood opportunities for poor, marginalized and rural households. By partnering with LWPF, local governments and communities, the Bank continues to create a greener, healthier, and more prosperous Nepal.
